Do you ever get REALLY annoyed at those tele-marketers who just call for what seems to be the most rediculous reasons? Well, here is one example that just might work in handling them ...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=un_PjRXV5l8

And, if you want to download the clip and have it for yourself it is available from us here. Enjoy!

[88][88] That's great.

I have HSBC and thousands of Toll Free numbers calling my house multiple times daily. If you don't pick up the first time, they'll just call again. They are SO annoying maximus...

Easiest way to handle them. That said, I prefer the Jerry Maguire approach. Most of this is paraphrasing and combining a lifetime's worth of solicitor calls into one post, but the last few lines are genuine.

"Listen, you're selling what?"
"I'm selling product X."
"Ok, ok, let me tell you something. I'm willing to buy your product if you do a little something something for me, eh? I scratch your back, you scratch mine, eh?"
"Um, ok?"
"I need you to say something for me."
"Ok?"
"I need you to say 'show me the money.'" (this is where most telemarketers catch on and hang up, but there is the occasional guy who hasn't seen "Jerry Maguire")
"What?"
"You heard me. I need you to say 'show me the money.'"
"Show me the money?"
"LIKE YOU MEAN IT!"
"Show me the money."
"SHOUT IT!"
"Show me the money!" (I've only made it this far a very few times)
"ONCE MORE, WITH FEELING!"
"Show me the money, sir, I really can't be any louder."
"Ok, ok, you got me. I understand you need to be professional and all, workplace environment and the such. One more thing I need you to do for me, though."

*WARNING: The contents of the conversation below are vulgar. No, seriously. I've only gotten this far once--virtually every telemarketer I've ever had the great displeasure of speaking to has hung up long before now.*

"And then you'll purchase our product?"
"Yeah."
"Ok, sir, what would you like me to do?"
"I need you to answer a question for me."
"What's that?"
"Who's the mother!#$@er?"
"Excuse me?"
"WHO'S THE MOTHERF!#$@ER?!"
"You are?"
"I'M THE WHAT?"
"You're the...that thing you said."
"WHAT DID I SAY?"
"You're...uh...uh...ah, screw it."
(telemarketer hangs up, hilarity ensues)

Stalin: church help me
Churchill: like u helped me before? sure ill just sit here
Stalin: dont be an arss
Churchill: dont be a commie. oops too late

Hopefully, folks remember to continue registering their number. :-D Very funny stuff with the Jerry McGuire routine, I might have to remember that one.

Well, I am actually the owner and senior admin of this site, so I check in regularly to see what's happening. At any rate, the site is open for folks to use if they want, but ever since about 2005 the frequent usage has fluctuated.

My simple way to handle the tele-marketers is to have them talk to my answering machine. If they want to leave a message, good. If they don't, also good. I understand most tele-marketers use a computer to dial their numbers. They really don't know who they're calling.
